A Tail of a Trail

Donation protected
Once upon a time, a middle aged man that has faced some difficulties in his life decided to take back control of said life. He came up with a ambitious and some say crazy idea to do just this. Unfortunately, the ideal way to enact this plan was with the help of others. FORTUNATELY, he knew of at least one other person who would likely participate. So he asked that person (namely me), and A PLAN was born ...

THE PLAN:
"Two broken down, middle-aged 'Idiots' are going to stand atop a mountain in Northern Georgia, will laugh, joke, and will then "high five" each other, before turning and starting to walk north:..
Towards a sign atop a mountain in Maine, over 2,000 miles away.
Yes friends, you read that correctly:.
Two THOUSAND miles!"

To make this whole idea more fulfilling, as well as USEFUL beyond satisfying a few bodies suffering from mid-life crises, we also decided to use this as an opportunity to help others, buy attempting to raise money for CHARITY, and offering others the chance to join us in any capacity that they might find worthwhile.

But just like any grand scheme, these things cost money. We we hoping to be able to raise funding by the old fashioned way (i.e. "work"), but we neglected to take into account that I am a non-conformist with a sever allergy to traditional jobs, and that my partner is temporarily retired. So, since we can't seem to raise what we need all by our lonesome, We are hoping for the pity ... er ... ummm ... kindness of others to aid THE PLAN.

What is needed:
-about $1500 to $2000 for equipment
-up to $3000 for food, other necessities, and emergencies.

So the goal is as close to $5000 as we can get. Whatever does not get used will go to charity, with maybe a portion towards writing a book.

"But what's in it for me?" Most of you are no doubt asking.Beyond the simple satisfaction that comes with helping others, we offer the opportunity to JOIN US. Come along for part of the hike. Do it for the adventure. Do it for the sake of fitness. Do it to get mentioned in a blog (and eventually a book). Do it to promote something that is dear to YOU. Or do it to help your preferred charity. Every little bit will help! If you don't like the idea of donating money to the hike, then donate to a charity in the NAME of the hike. Or simply spread the word! I will gladly aid you in return in whatever manner I can, whether it be support on a project of your own, or motivating you as you pursue your own dreams.

If you think it is a worthwhile goal, please join in. Help the actual adventure happen. Pledge to a charity as an incentive. Or simply follow along and maybe cheer occasionally. Whatever you choose to do would be much appreciated!
